There were four Stanford football players selected in this past weekend's NFL draft, a sure sign that the Cardinal weren't winning games last fall just because they were a bunch of smart guys who worked hard. There was some talent involved. Nose tackle Sione Fua (Carolina Panthers, 3rd round), fullback Owen Marecic (Cleveland Browns, 4th round), cornerback Richard Sherman (Seattle Seahawks, 5th round), and wide receiver Ryan Whalen (Cincinnati Bengals, 6th round) were four of the most important players on the 2010 Stanford team, not only for their on-field contributions but also for their senior leadership.
